No Phones Bike Ride and Technology Talk
This meetup explores our relationship to technology by beginning somewhere technology rarely allows us to start: in our bodies and in shared physical space.
Participants gather for a short group bike ride through the neighborhood or surrounding landscape. During the ride, phones remain unused. The intention is simple—move together, observe the environment, clear mental noise, and re-enter conversation from a grounded state of attention rather than from the continuous pull of screens and feeds.
After the ride, the group meets at a café, park, or community space for an open discussion about technology’s influence on cognition, community, creativity, and everyday life. Rather than debating technology in abstraction, the conversation emerges from a lived contrast: the experience of temporary disconnection followed by collective reflection.
This is not an anti-technology space. It is an experiment in technological awareness—creating conditions where participants can notice how attention, perception, and social presence change when digital mediation briefly recedes.
The format is intentionally simple:
- Short, no-phone group bike ride
- Regather in a shared space
- Open, facilitated conversation about technology and lived experience
The goal is to cultivate cognitive clarity, local community, and more intentional relationships with the tools that increasingly shape our lives.
